The Orchard View soccer team overcame a huge deficit, scoring four unanswered goals to defeat Manistee 5-4 on Tuesday in Lakes 8 Conference play.
The Cardinals trailed 1-0 at halftime.
OV’s Adam Skidmore tied the game 1-1 with a goal early in the second half. Evan McMiller assisted on the tally.
Manistee responded with three straight goals to take a 4-1 advantage.
The Cardinals stormed back with two goals from McMiller and Fabian Juarez each to erase the three goal deficit and take a one goal lead.
Orchard View tied the game 4-4 on a Juarez goal with 38 seconds remaining in regulation before McMiller avoided overtime, scoring the game-winning goal with two seconds left.
The Cardinals outshot Manistee by a slim 9-8 margin.
