1. Spring Lake (29-3): The Lakers are riding high after clinching their fifth consecutive OK Blue championship. Spring Lake went a perfect 18-0 in conference play this season and had some key out of conference wins, including a win over No. 8 Muskegon Oakridge. The Lakers head to Allendale for their district tournament-opener against Fruitport on May 30.
2. Muskegon Oakridge (28-3): The Eagles wrapped up their second consecutive conference title by sweeping North Muskegon on Tuesday. At No. 8 in the latest D2 rankings, Oakridge has the makings of a strong contender in the state tournament. The Eagles faced Cedar Springs in the district tournament on May 30.
3. Muskegon Reeths-Puffer (28-7): With nine straight victories, the Rockets are rounding into form just in time for the state tournament. Reeths-Puffer probably had its most impressive showing of the season in a doubleheader sweep of Division 4 powerhouse Holton on May 18.
4. Holton (27-8): If past years are any indication of how far the Red Devils may go in the state tournament, then Holton fans better be prepared for a lengthy run once again. The Red Devils have advanced to the state semifinals in three of the past four seasons. The No. 6 ranked team in Division 4, Holton begins their quest for a state title by hosting its district tournament. The Red Devils will face the winner of Walkerville and Hesperia on June 3 for the district title.
5. Muskegon Orchard View (29-6): It has been a dream season so far for the Cardinals after clinching their first conference title in 27 years last week. Orchard View is led by a strong freshman group of pitchers and hitters, as well as some strong senior leadership. The Cardinals face Sparta in the opening round of a district bracket that features state ranked Muskegon Oakridge.
