MUSKEGON – The Grant boys soccer team notched its second win of the young season as they edged out Orchard View, 2-1, on Monday.
The Tigers’ Noah Davis opened the scoring with a header goal off a corner kick from Maddux Page. The score stood at halftime.
In the second half, Ixandel Lara caught the Cardinals’ keeper out of the box and sent one into the net for a 2-0 lead. The Cardinals answered back with a goal of their own, but that was it. Freshman goalkeeper Blake Vantreese made eight saves for the Tigers. Grant (2-0) will open CSAA-Blue play at Reed City on Wednesday. Orchard View (0-1) hosts Kalamazoo Phoenix on Wednesday.
