In the MHSAA Individual District Wrestling Tournament held at Orchard View High School, junior Jordan Tuttle won the 285 pound weight class. Tuttle entered the tournament with 97 wins and was scheduled to wrestle 3 matches. The tournament was scheduled to be at Comstock Park High School but because of power outages throughout the District, the tourney was moved to OVHS. The stage was set for Jordan to get his 100th career win on his home mat.
Win 98 came at the hands of Vincent Maurice of Grand Rapids West Catholic. Tuttle got the win by pin in 1:49. Win 99 was a major decision win over Zach Parker of Shelby, 16-8. A win in the next match would be for the District Championship and the career milestone for wrestlers. To get both achievements he had to go through Eddie Hines of Grand Rapids Catholic Central. This was a tough, exciting match, with Tuttle finally prevailing with a pin at 3:21. Jordan advances to the Regional tourney next Saturday, Feb. 16 at Belding High School.
